TRADITIONAL PEN AND PAPER GAME

When you think of “bar trivia”, you probably think of our traditional pen and paper game. Each team gets four answer sheets (one for each round) and one person on the team writes the answers down as the host reads each question. At the end of the ten questions, players take a short break while the host grades the sheets. They announce the answers and team standings after the break.

Each question is worth one point. The entire game is scored out of 40 with a tie-breaker at the end.

TIMED PHONE-BASED GAME

Our timed game uses the same questions and round structure that you love with the paper game, just faster. We use the Crowdpurr software to play. Each team uses one phone and accesses the game via a QR code, no downloads necessary!

The host will announce the questions and press a button on their computer allowing players to submit their answer. The questions will also appear on the screen as the host is reading them out loud.

The questions are worth up to 100 points and teams have 45 seconds to answer. The points decrease as the time decreases but you can’t change your answer once you have submitted it. It’s about getting it right, but also faster than the other teams. Some groups love this heightened pressure, while others enjoy the laid-back original game.
