Quiz Cup New York

QCNY Winter 2020 Registration is OPEN! Sign your team up here.

Starting the week of Saturday, January 19, 2020, Trivia NYC, in alliance with a wide array of sponsors, is proud to present the sixth season of The Quiz Cup of New York, a citywide competition to crown the best trivia team in New York City.

The eight-week season will end March 8 and culminate in a one-day live championship later that month with plenty of prizes.

It’s easy (and free!) to play. If your team plays at Trivia NYC events already, then you just keep doing what you’re doing. Register your team here (up to 6 players per team), and play your regular nights as you normally do. Your scores will count on the night as usual, but they’ll also count toward QCNY.

Scoring will be as follows:

All teams will get QCNY points equal to the percentage of a perfect score on the night, up to a maximum of 100 points. Above that, the winning team on any given trivia night will get TEN (10) BONUS POINTS, making a perfect weekly score 110 points. Second place will get nine (9) bonus points on top of their percentage score, third place gets eight (8) bonus points, and so on down to 10th place getting one (1) bonus point. Any teams below 10th place get only their percentage points on the night, plus the satisfaction of a great night out playing trivia.

Follow @TriviaNYC on Twitter , Facebook, & Instagram, as well as the hashtag #QCNY for hints and regular updates.

Your team can play more than once per week; only your best score for the week will count toward your Quiz Cup score. If you manage to play twice in one night, only the earlier score will count toward your QCNY tally.

At the end of the 8-week season, the top teams will be invited to the QCNY Championship in late March. The winner of that event will win The Quiz Cup of New York, and hold the title of Best Trivia Team in New York City. This title comes with an array of prizes, including cash, plus numerous other sponsor prizes.

QCNY teams will be allowed one (1) substitution on regular game weeks. At the Grand Finals, however, there will be no substitutions allowed.
